BROWN RICE PULAO HEALTHY RECIPE

Ingredients

1/4 cup soaked and drained brown rice 1/4 cup chopped french beans 1/4 cup chopped carrot 1/4 cup green peas 1/3 tsp oil 1/3 tsp ghee 1/4 tsp cumin seeds (jeera) 1/3 pc clove (laung / lavang) 1/3 pc cardamom (elaichi) 1/3 pc small stick cinnamon (dalchini) 1/3 pc bayleaf (tejpatta) 1/4 cup sliced onions 1/4 tsp ginger (adrak) paste 1/4 tsp garlic (lehsun) paste 1/3 tsp green chilli paste 1/3 tsp biryani masala negligible tsp salt

Method

1. Heat the oil and ghee in a pressure cooker and add the cumin seeds, clove, cardamom, cinnamon and bayleaf and sauté on a medium flame for 30 seconds.

2. Add the onions, ginger paste, garlic paste and green chilli paste and sauté on a medium flame for 1 minute.

3. Add the brown rice, french beans, carrots, green peas, biryani masala and salt and sauté on a medium flame for 1 minute.

4. Add 2 cups of hot water, mix well and pressure cook for 4 whistles.

5. Allow the steam to escape before opening the lid.

6. Serve hot.
