HEALTHY IDIYAPPAM RECIPE

 INGREDIENTS:

Brown rice flour – 1 tbsp. (15 gms)

Oats flour – 1 tbsp. (15 gms)

Roasted flax seeds powder – 1 tsp.

Grated carrot – 2 tsp. (10gm)

Salt – as per taste

Oil – ½ tsp, to grease

 DIRECTIONS:

Step 1 : Combine the brown rice flour, oats flour, roasted flax seeds powder and salt in a deep bowl, mix well and knead into a soft dough using approx. 1 cup of warm water.

Step 2 : Cover the dough with a lid and keep aside for 15 minutes.

Step 3 : Shape the dough into a cylindrical roll. Fill the dough into the sev press.

Step 4 : Press out little thin strands into greased (use 2 drops of oil) idli moulds.

Step 5 : Sprinkle 1 tsp of grated carrot into each idli mould and again press out a little mixture again.

Step 6 : Steam in a steamer for 10 minutes.

Step 7 : Serve hot with vegetable stew.
